Trying out McDonald’s Headquarters International Menu (US vs Canada)
Got the chance to go to McDonald’s in Chicago to try out McDonald’s in the US and ate everything at their headquarters restaurant.
Now coming from Canada I really wanted to see the difference between our meals, especially across the boarder… shouldn’t be too different… right?
- Chicken Sandwiches:
At HQ, they have the Samurai McSpicy, but McCrispy in general is the same in Canada. McSpicy I found had a lot of sauce, its was fine, but just messy. The McChicken in Canada in my opinion is better because the US looks very similar to the Junior McChicken. So I would say for Chicken Sandwich, I’m more for Canada, but the Samurai McSpicy was fun to try once. - Big Mac:
I enjoyed the Big Mac more in the US. Several times in Canada I find it a bit too dry, this was more moist and enjoyable. So the original Big Mac, wins in the US - McNuggets:
I don’t know why but the McNuggets are different in the US. I think they use a bit of different batter, but the meat is the biggest difference. I felt that the McNugget in US is similar meat to a Burger King Nugget than the ones I’m use to in Canada. Canada has more thicker meat and juicier. So Canada wins for this one. But the prices… US is like half the price of Canada’s so kind feel like it’s closer to a draw when you think of value - Fries:
I mean… they’re good fries… nothing much you can really compare the two, it’s the same. - Dessert:
I do not understand… they had an international menu Canada Donut, and it was better than anything we had in Canada. It was like Chocolate cake like moist-ness. McPops were just jelly donuts, but ye overall the quality is SO much better than Canada’s. Canada’s I just don’t love their pastry, US I’m dying to have more - Slushie:
We don’t have it in Canada… we have smoothies… I don’t know why.
Overall, I would give the US the edge, just have more choices, and value than in Canada. But the chicken products, Canada beats US in flavor. So if you’re a chicken fan, you may just prefer Canada’s McDonald’s more.
Want to know why I went all the way to McDonald’s in the US? Well… I tried to pitch their team on the McWedding… they told me to leave so… ye…
